SPIRITUAL REST AND PEACE

Sooner or later, we all yearn to find peace, inner tranquility and spiritual refreshment. It is a desperate yearning in this troubled world. So many things drive us to seek that rest, but so many things discourage us as to whether it is even available or can even be experienced. Our own lives, the world we live in and the realities of spiritual warfare lead us to seek spiritual rest. In one of the most compelling scripture passages, we see that Jesus is the One to bring us this rest. Matthew 11:28-30 teaches us that we must first come unto Jesus for the initial spiritual peace and rest that we need and that everyone who is burdened and wearied qualifies for the rest that Jesus offers. this is not something to earn. It is freely given by the one who offers it. It is a rest from the hard path of sin and its consequences.
